The Gar-rose railway

david at the time was married to actress Judy Garland and named his railroad the GAR-Rose. After their divorce in 1944 it was renamed the Holiday Special, after his famous composition, HOLIDAY FOR STRINGS.


the steam locomotive was purchased in the late 1980’s by David Booth and COMPLETELY REBUILT for his 7-1/4” Tipsico lakeshore railroad. The tender was substituted for the one that originally came with TLS Pacific #147, which had greater capacities.
